Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer, you'll build across the Spark platform: the web app agents use all day, the APIs and data behind it, the integrations with phones, calendars and lead sources, and the AI features. You'll work directly with customers and the founding team, and you'll own features from first conversation to production.

What you'll do

• Design, build and ship full-stack features across the Spark web app, APIs and background jobs.
• Build AI features that automate follow-up, messaging and scheduling, and measure how much time they actually save users.
• Integrate with telephony, SMS, calendar, video and lead-source providers, and keep those integrations reliable.
• Model and evolve the data behind contacts, pipelines, workspaces and billing.
• Talk with agents and agency owners, find the slowest and most repetitive parts of their day, and build ways to remove them.
• Keep quality high with tests, code review, monitoring and clear write-ups.

What we're looking for

• Experience building and shipping production web applications.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, with experience across frontend and backend.
• Comfort with relational databases, SQL and API design.
• Interest in building on top of LLM APIs.
• Good product judgment: you can take a loosely defined problem and ship something useful.
• Clear written communication and ownership of your work after it ships.

Nice to have

• Experience with voice AI, telephony (e.g. SIP, Twilio) or SMS platforms.
• Mobile experience, especially iOS.
• Background in CRM, sales tooling or insurance technology.
• Early-stage startup experience.
